Suzie's wedding

The big item around here is Suzie's upcoming wedding on July 14th. We are
all exited. Also I am relieved that David signed with the Leaf organization.
One way or the other he will be in Toronto which is closer for him to Tug
and closer for all of us to him.
Me, I'm feeling fine. Another MRI July 20th. Still investigating various
treatment options. Enjoying every day.
Pam is booked to have her gallbladder removed in August but is felling pretty good.
I think that some of you have been a bit slack with hugging loved ones.
Don't forget---it's important.
Love,
Barry

Update

Hi friends,
Lots to report. Fortunately I am feeling great. This is the best summer
ever taking into account that I am retired and feel so good.
Pam and I went over to Halifax on Thursday and met with my
neurosurgeon (Dr Holness). Previosly we were of the opinion that
furhter surgey was not an option. However he stated that if I
developed significant neurological symptoms that he would operate
to decompress and de- bulk the tumour. This would not be
curative but would potentially buy good time. We were very glad
to here this. No pun intended but you have to be sick in the head
to look forward to further brain surgery. I qualify.
Two years ago 12 of us from the Island went to Ireland golfing.
This past weekend the 12 of us went over to Halifax and played
12 of my friends from there. We had a fantastic time and they
are coming here in August. Great times.
Pam is feeling better but is going to be booked to have her
gallbladder removed later on this summer.
There still are some treatment options that we are exploring
but nothing concrete yet.
Don't forget to hug the ones you love,
Barry

MRI Results

Dear friends,
The MRI today was quite disappointing but not entirely unexpected.
The question now is where do we go from here. I became aware a few
days ago of a study being done at The Montreal Neurological Institute
involving brain tumours with my particular cell type. I called my
neurosureon in Halifax and he tempered my enthusiaim a bit saying
that a similar study in Boston several years ago did not pan out. He
knows the researcher in Montreal and is going to call him and get the
dope on it. Here"s hoping.
It"s amazing that I can have so much wrong with me and feel so
good, This has been the best summer ever what with retirement
and feeling so good.
To add to the list, Suzie miscarried three days ago and Pam had
a gallbladder attack and needs to get her gallbladder out. We all just look
at these things as another reason to hug each other.
Don"t forget the value of hugs.
Love
Barry

Response to Beth

Hi friends,
My daughter in law in the blog asked how I knew what pesticide smelled
like. I was 24 before I realized why my eyes watered everytime I had sex.
It was the mace. Much like pesticide.

Update

Hi friends,
Feeling fine now. Had an episode on Friday when I had three
olfactory seizures. These come from irritation of the nerves that
controls your smelling. They felt like someone sprayed a strong
pesticide in my nose and lasted about 15 seconds and I felt a little
funny afterwards for a few minutes. A bit concerning . I started
back on certain meds and feel 100 percent for the past 2 days.
Booked for an MRI next Tuesday.
Remember how important hugs are.
Love Barry
