Another update

Hi friends, started another chemotherapy this week. Lots of nausea and vomiting with it. Still getting some headaches, left side weakness and vision problems. Pam, Suzie and friends are a lot of help. We went to the O.R. party Friday night, most enjoyable and got lots of hugs. Don't forget the hugs they are so important. I would hate to be alone in times like this. Mom, Dad, sister Mo, Dave and Jenn are going to be here for Christmas. Don't be afraid to tell family and friends that you love them. lots of hugs to everyone, Barry

Hello...my name is Madeleine Trenouth....sister of Helen Cottreau...I 've been reading your blog since mid-Nov. 2006 I 'm inspired by many of your messages and those of your friends and family........just want to send you some hugs via e-mail...they should just now be crossing over the fixed link (I live in Fredericton, N.B.)and here's hoping you have the very best of what this season has to offer....surrounded by family and friends.....and, of course, encircled by the arms of many.
Hugs, Madeleine

We want to add our names to the many who are thinking of, and sending hugs and very best wishes to you, Pam and your family.
One would hope never to be in the situation you find yourselves, but if that happened, it is nice to hope that we would be able to manage it with some of the dignity, humour, and love that you are demonstrating, even though it must be very difficult for you at times. Thank you for that.
Have a wonderful Xmas with you family.
Hugs to you all,
Des and Sandy

Our warm thoughts and prayers are with you and your family this Christmas. Because of you and your blog, Hugging has become the "new" greeting. You are mainly responsible for a friendlier PEI, and beyond as your friends are everywhere.
Thank you from our family to yours.
Mike, Jeannie, Darcy, Tara and Ryan.

Barry,
Hugs are going everywhere. I met Bill MacGuire in the doorway at M&M today and he gave me a big hug and I hugged him back, in spite of all the weird comments he used to write in his sports column.
Had lots of hugs, which I returned, from athletes at UPEI homecoming, which they also would have given you.
Agree with your sister Mo that
a singing orthopod is not always that musical, but as a watching physio, it sure gave your patients a laugh. And, we all know, that's the best medicine!
Hugs to you and all of your family over this season and hope Chemo won't interfere with your Yuletide food.I know it won't interfere with the most important thing--having family there.
Much love to you, Pam,Jamie and Beth and kids, David and Jenn, Bates, Suzie and Shane, and all dogs on the property.
Janet the physio, and her two dogs.

Merry Christmas Doc and Family Ling. I'm pleased to hear that you'll be surrounding yourself with the important things in life...family, friends, love and GOOD FOOD :o). You have been and will continue to be a super "role model" for me Doc. I've become a person who tells her friends "thank you" and "I love you" and I really, truly mean it. The hugs give me a reason to smile just that much more every day. So...thank you, for sharing the gift of your simple wisdom. Gifts don't only come at Christmas, eh!
Have a blessed season. HUGS

To all the Lings and extended family - a very merry Christmas.

Barry, enjoy your holiday time with your family and keep on fighting. As I said before,we all admire your courage in these most difficult times. If there is anyone who can kick "this sob of a disease" in the ass, it is you.

Thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

Lyall and family.

ps

Hi and a big hug from frat brother George Hughes
