Dear Pam and Barry,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you this stormy Easter Day. There are no words to express how we feel after reading your Blog about the MRI. None of us know what tomorrow will bring, that is why the present is a "gift". May this day be full of love, laughter and peace for you both and your families.
Love Brian and Joanne

Hi Barry and Pam.
The neighbourhood is full of snow and roads are narrow.just like a january day.As my Mom says, this is just Robin snow... it will be gone soon enough. All the signs are here for a spring election and everyone is gearing up for a win this time. It will be good to see Robert in the Premier's seat.
The District 14 team is back in action and things are unrollingas they should.
Sorry to hear thenews about the MIR... please know that we all care about you and know that each day brings a promice of a new beginning.....This promice at Easter reminds us of the brighter days ahead.
With fondness and caring.

Dear Barry,
I've been following your blog with keen interest and a hopeful heart since the beginning. (Tried to send a message yesterday but think it must be lost in the snowstorm or out in cyberspace!) I remember first meeting you at Johnny's Mayfair in the early 1980's one day at noon. You were holding forth with various sport and horse-racing enthusiasts including your cousin Dr. Don L., and Jack Kane. You were full of fun - such a colorful character and an unforgettable individual! It also comes to mind that you had a close call once before when your race horse crushed your chest - broken ribs, wasn't it? Anyway, you pulled through then and I'm hoping you will have the same favorable outcome once again! I became a surgery patient of yours in 1992 (osteochondroma) and I often wondered if you were "oggling" my right leg while I was under anaesthesia!! In recent years, brother Al (your friend, neighbour and colleague) has kept me abreast of your activities from time to time. I really hope that you have some positive news at your Tuesday's meeting re further Chemo. In the meantime, reflect on all the people you've touched, the lives you saved and all the fun you managed to find along the way! As Lance Armstrong's motto goes, "LIVE STRONG!"
Best wishes to both you and Pam - you two really are a special couple!
In my thoughts frequently,
Judy Profitt

Hi Barry

You will probably not remember me. we knew each other about a million years ago in Sherbrooke.
I am now living on Kingston ON where I had the opportunity to watch (I believe your son) play hockey for the Kingston Frontenacs. I was doing a "google" to see where he had gone with his hockey career. It was during this search that I stumbled over your blog.
Seing your name, brought back many memories of the old school days in Nova Scotia (most of them good).

I am so sorry to read about you in this manner, after all these years, but it sounds like you have had a full and rewarding life. You have continued with your good work with this blog. I think that it certainly helps a lot of people with the sharing of your good times as well as the bad.
As you well know, anything can happen in the medical field and nobody knows what can take place in the old human body. It sounds like you have a good sense of humour, so maintain that and enjoy your family and friends, and try to have a ball in the time to come. Hopefully, you will be looking back on this period ten years from now and have a really good laugh about it all.

All my wishes for the best of luck in the days, months and years to come.
