Update

Hi friends,
Sorry I'm a bit late. Pam is feeling good and out and about. She says "hi".
Me-- I'm feeling great, no symptoms of any significance. I go to Halifax
tomorrow to enroll in a new treatment program. It will consist of chemotherapy
(pill form) daily for a year. Looking forward to it.
I just want to check on you to make sure we are not getting delinquent with
the hugs. Don't wait until there is a crisis to appreciate your friends and
loved ones. You know how much you appreciate a hug. So do they. We are
very lucky to have each other. Show it.
Love you all,
Barry and Pam

Hi Dr. Ling, hope you wife is feeling okay. You saw Sharon while you were at the hospital last week. She is so excited about that, still talks about it. You are a beautiful person, don't let anybody tell you any difference. By the way I'm in the market for a new orthopedic surgeon, any suggestions. Even if he is half as good as you I could live with that.
We are keeping up the hugs. Thank you.

Mike.

Hi Dr. Ling, I hope you wife is doing better. You saw Sharon while at the hospital last week, she was so excited, still is & still talking about it. You are a wonderful person, one of the best we've had the privilege to know. By the way I am in the market for a new orthopedic surgeon, any suggestions. If he is half as good as you, I guess I can live with that. Thank you so much for everything.

Dear Barry and Pam,
Glad to see that Pam's surgery went well, and that you're looking forward to your Halifax trip.
We're heading back to the cottage at the end of the week, anticipating lots of hugs from the grandchildren, who are there waiting for us.
As ever, you're all in our thoughts and prayers.

Hey Doc,

I've been thinking of you quite often. Someone informed me that this would be the best way to reach you. I don't know you as my doctor, or, for that matter, as my close friend. I say this regrettably. I only met you because you were a frequent patron at my bar. There were days, I must confess, that I over-served you. But you had this incredible ability of staying graceful and witty after drinking intemperate amounts of liquor. Anyway, none of that is relevant to my purpose of sending you a note. I really just wanted to say that I've never met anyone like you. You are so cool and clever. You are one of the funniest people I've ever met--and I've met lots. I noticed people would smile when you entered the room. They weren't smiling out of politeness, either. I think they were smiling because they couldn't wait to hear what you had to say. People love being around you, Barry. I was one of those people.

I'm glad that this sickness hasn't impaired your joyful spirit. I hope you continue to enjoy each day. Keep punchin'.

Hi Dr. Barry Very good to hear that you are still hugging. I once worked with a young lawyer who told me that it took three hugs a day to be healthy and every morning he came to work he gave me a hug. A very lovely man today marries with three wee ones and still gives those hugs. Glad to hear Pam had her surgery and is doing well. Hope that you get along fine in Halifax and as usual will be praying for you. You are an inspiration for sure. Get lots of hugs and stay positive miracles are known to happen. Hugs to you, Sharon MacFadyen
