Merry Christmas

Hi Friends,
Merry Christmas and a festive season to every one of you. I wish I could reach out and hug and thank each of you. The past two months have been quite a ride but Pam and I feel lucky and blessed nevertheless. When you sit in the clinics in Halifax and see 7 and 8 year olds having the same treatments that I'm having, it puts things into proper perspective.

We feel blessed for various reasons. First of all, my surgery went along without any of the many
disastrous complications that could have occurred. Secondly, my treatments are being tolerated well. Next, we feel particularly blessed because of you people. Your presence, your thoughts, your prayers have provided Pam and myself with such an inner strength and desire. Your prayers and comments have kept me from getting the "poor mes" and instead make me feel how lucky I am. I am realistic about all this, but I truly do have a good feelinig.

Pam and I hope that your Christmas is as good as ours. Heartfelt love from the both of us.

May God bless you all,
Pam and Barry

Hi Barry

Just found your blog and wanted to tell you how pleased I am to see you blogging your way to a full recovery.

I suffered a brain hemorage back in 2002 and have also been on the recovery path since that time.

I have found that the computer and the internet have been a large part of my mental as well as physical therapy.

I continue to learn along the way. I am a member of Strokenet, an on line support group and I have been learning about bloging as well as web page design and on line marketing etc.

I am not sure if I will be able to return to work. (I am 58) I guess I have been medically retired but I still feel that I can contribute in some small way.

My best to you and yours. Keep up the fine work. The road to recovery may be long but every journey begins with a single step.

Smiles :o)

Gary

ps I had heard on CBC about your blog but hadn't had the chance to hear the interview peices.
