On the Air

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know that Barry's Blog is going to be discussed on CBC radio tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m. (PEI time). Barry and I did an interview together this morning to talk about how he is doing and the role of the blog in communicating with family and friends. If you are not in PEI, the producer tells me that you can pick up the broadcast on the internet at: http://www.cbc.ca/pei/

And as far as Barry goes, he is feeling good and getting ready to begin chemo and radiation therapy in two weeks.

Hi Dr. Lingy Ding (a professional title that a certain Dr. in Montague has dubbed you - not me - I promise!) Found out about your troubles at Sobey's a couple of weeks ago. So glad that the Operation is over with and wanted you to know that as you go forward you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Also listened to your "On the Air" interview and please be advised that your "bedside manner" is GREAT!
Thanks for taking such good care of me and my elbow!

Hi Barry
Heard you on CBC this morning and I almost fell off my chair. It was the first I heard of your illness and 'shocked' is an understatement.
I hope you are soon healed as thoroughly and joyfully as you have healed so many of us.
Read through your posts and it's good to know your sense of humour is intact. As you once told me, laughter can be one of the greatest forces in healing.
Take care of yourself good doctor.
My prayers are with you and yours.

Hi Barry, thanks for the blog, it is a great way for us here on PEI to stay updated about our favorite doctor. Earlier this fall I mentioned to a friend that I was so fortunate to have you as a doctor for the last many years and now I truly know how wonderful and accesible you always were to your patients. We can't wait for your return. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around, and with all the care, expertise, and great bedside manner you gave to all your patients I am sure you are enjoying the same. Becky sends her "Angel Kisses" and I send prayers to you and your family. Lorraine Doiron

oh my gosh ,dear Dr. Ling
that was just an aweful thing
to find out you were really ill
and had to use another surgeons skill.
I actually knelt and said a prayer
to whoever might just listen up there
to send a angel to watch over you
and do what only angels can do.

today i heard that you'll be ok
and will be back with us one day
you gave us all quite a fright
and were glad to hear that you'll be alright.
it made me stop and think you see
how much my Doctor meant to me ,
who would we go to if you werent there
a thought i really could'nt bear.
there isnt any one else i know
who'd listen to our tears of woe,
who still has got the human touch that makes us care about you so much.
your a good doctor and a buddy too .
thats what we all think of you
and hope to see you back again
with all our aches and all our pain.
i hope that doctor who removed the tumor
didnt spill out any of your humor. Cause thats what makes you who you are
the best doctor in town by far.
so take it easy for a while
then come on back and bring your smile
to all the patients so they can see
your back and fit as fit can be ,.
