Message From Barry:

Pam and I have been overwhelmed by the support that so many of you have shown. Instead of feeling unlucky that I have this problem, we feel so lucky that we have you people as friends. I really do believe that your prayers and thoughts have been a factor thus far. I am probably going to be out of the hospital tomorrow . Pam and I will stay in Halifax for a few days. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are to be arranged and not sure if they will be in Halifax or on the Island. You friends have meant so much. We have been on such an emotional rollercoaster. One moment you are scared that the laughter and the love are over and the next moment it gets handed back to you.

Dear Barry and Pam,
We were going to send a card but decided to tell you "the modern way" that we have been thinking about you and your family a great deal. It sounds like your inner strength, sense of humour, family love and support, as well as the humour, love and support of the many people who were shocked by word of your illness is helping you on this "roller coaster ride". Great to hear you are doing so well...we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Dr. Barry:
During the latter part of our journey with our Mom/Wife at Palliative Care we heard about your shock and of course we were saddened once again. I want you to know you are in our prayers. Keep smiling, joking and winking. You are very special to our family. Love and Prayers, Lynne Morrissey (Bev), Frank (the old gray mayor), and Mike Moran.

Barry, Pam, Jamie, David and Suzie,

We are so happy to hear your surgery went so well. It is hard to keep you fiesty island doctors down! We certainly understand a part of the emotional roller coaster you have been on. It is so wonderful to realize how much people care and are rooting for you.
I predict you will be back to telling politically incorrect jokes in no time!- that's part of your charm.
Have a speedy recovery. We will keep you in our prayers.

Just wanted to say that Dr. Barry and his family have been in my thoughts and prayers. I am so glad that all has gone and is going well for him in his recovery. Though I don’t know Dr. Barry personally he has touched my family deeply – having cared for my mother after a spinal injury and thus saving her life. I do however count Susie and David as friends of mine and can only hope that they receive the same blessing and care for their father, as he was able to provide my mother and our family.

Kind Regards,
Jamie Murphy
